Leather Leash

For over 30 years, I've trusted leather leashes for my dogs, and they've never let me down. My first dog "Triss" (1992) had a synthetic leash that dug into my hands and even caused a burn when she pulled hard. A good leather leash, on the other hand, is a game-changer. It's soft to hold, providing a comfortable and secure grip, even when faced with a strong pull.

I still use a leather leash I bought for my Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix back in 1999. Over the years, I've added an extra clip to ensure it never detaches from the collar. There have been instances where one of my dogs managed to open the clip and free themselves from the collar. The braided design allows for clip replacement if needed or if one prefers to attach the leather directly to the collar without a clip.

When it comes to walking my dogs, I'm a staunch supporter of using harnesses to protect their necks. However, for training sessions, especially when my dogs are off-leash, I opt for a collar. The active engagement during training requires a different approach, and one of my favorites is the Black Rhino collar.

Rabbitgoo Dog Harness

Finally, I've found a harness that fits perfectly! Many harnesses have buckles right behind the elbows, causing constant annoyance as the dog walks. This one has the buckles higher up on the back, allowing for unrestricted movement. It's sturdy and of excellent quality, available in several stylish colors. You can attach the leash both on the back and the chest (although it's not something I recommend). This has quickly become a favorite!

Ensuring your dog's comfort is crucial; many dogs live with hidden pain, often from leash-related neck injuries. That's why I always recommend a harness, especially for puppies or untrained dogs. Optimal for reactivity, it prevents neck strain and offers secure control.
